BIC mandate:
To support commercialization of technologies in:
- Conversion of biomass (agricultural, forestry and other residues) to chemicals and energy
- Bioprocessing alternatives to existing chemical processes
- New or alternative unit operations in bioprocessing
- Alternative and renewable energy research
Laboratories and office space available for lease:
- 6 labs with fumehoods ready for final fit-up to suit client needs, each 600 ft2 with two 75 ft2 furnished attached offices
- 8 larger offices for BIC staff and tenants
Pilot plant and support space available for lease:
- 2,800 ft2 of multi-tenanted low-bay pilot plant space
- 3,400 ft2 of multi-tenanted high-bay pilot plant space
- 200 ft2 at-line lab for common use and a 400 ft2 closed-in fermentation room
- Single-tenant pilot plant space with further 1,300 ft2 of low-bay and 1,200 ft2 of high-bay
- 4,100 ft2 warehouse, walk-in fridge and freezer, chemical storage, loading dock
Shared Services Lab
- 1,200 ft2 Shared Services Lab which offers ASTM analytical services for biomass and bioproducts
- Managed by Cennatek Inc.
Utilities in plant:
- 120, 220, and 600 V electricity, over 2500 A
- Hot, cold and RO deionized water
- Dry steam at 60 psi
- Air at 100 psi, vacuum
- Natural gas
- Chilled process cooling glycol-water loop
