Bioindustrial Innovation Centre - Cultivating Innovation for a Sustainable Tomorrow
The Bioindustrial Innovation Centre (BIC) makes Canada a globally recognized leader in the efficient utilization of sustainable feedstocks, such as agricultural and forestry co-products, and in turning these renewable resources into energy and value-added chemicals for use in a wide range of commercial applications.
BIC has a major role in the translation of Southwestern Ontario's strengths in agriculture, chemicals, manufacturing, and automotive production into new, sustainable bioindustrial based products and renewable energy. It provides laboratories and shared pilot facilities for gasification, pyrolysis, fermentation and other key technologies for conversion of agricultural and forestry co-products into fuels, chemicals, products and materials.
