Alan Nixon Alan Nixon is Plant Manager of CF Industries, Courtright Nitrogen Complex. He was educated at Hartlepool Grammar School and Imperial College, University of London (UK) where he graduated with an honors degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master's Degree in Fluid and Structural Mechanics. After a short period of time working for British Aerospace and in research, Alan joined ICI Fertilizers in 1978 as a control engineer, conducting dynamic simulations of the interaction between chemical processes and control systems. He spent 5 years at the Heysham Plant in Lancashire in various management positions and transferred to the Bristol plant in 1986 as senior Instrument electrical engineer. He attained the role of site operations manager in 1993 and in 1998, after ICI Fertilizers was acquired by Terra Industries, Alan transferred to the Canadian Courtright, Ontario facility as upgrading production manager. In 2003, he was promoted to his current role of Plant Manager. Alan resides in Sombra with his wife Gayle. |
