Joel Adams Joel Adams is the Executive Director of the University of Western Ontario Research Park in London and Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario, Canada. The two campus Research Park is one of Canada's leading clusters of innovation, home to over 60 organizations collectively employing over 2,000 people, and including fast growing start-ups, major research institutes, a 50 room hotel and conference centre, and Ontario's largest biotechnology incubator. Over the past year the Research Park has raised over $75 million towards its further development, including the attraction of a large multinational polymer research centre and the establishment of the Bioindustrial Innovation Centre, Canada's leading centre for the commercialization of large scale industrial biotechnology. Joel is an experienced entrepreneur and consultant who has worked with a number of start-up companies across Canada and the United States and was previously the Associate Director of the Research Park as well as a former tenant in the London Campus. He is an award winning lecturer in Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and has taught both undergraduate and professional engineering masters students from the Universities of Toronto, Western, McMaster, Waterloo, and Queens. He is also the founding Program Director of the Technological Entrepreneurship Certificate program for Western Engineering. |
